A PAINTY-POSTAL SERVICE:
THE PAINT POST
Send art while we’re all apart: THE PAINT POST IS ABOUT REMEMBERING THE GOOD DAYS & KNOWING THAT THERE WILL BE MANY MORE TO COME. SINCE WE ALL HAVE TO STAY INDOORS NOW, WHY NOT SEND SOME HAPPY POST TO A FRIEND, AND REMIND THEM OF THE GOOD TIMES SPENT TOGETHER?
May 2020:
Yesterday was a big holiday in our country (Hari Raya Aidilfitri) and yet no one could visit friends & family. Celebrations were online and there were no night markets or loud parties, but people still sent things to each other — from flowers, to cakes, to snacks and meals. It seemed like the warmth of life still went on as long as there was the postal service getting things from door to door. It was nice, to see people sending things to each other despite not being able to be together. ♡
I made a series of watercolour stamps for people to send to each other during the lockdown period here in Singapore. I painted a total of over 50 stamps for people to send to each other, and some people even replied and sent me stuff back! The lockdown period in Singapore sure was a busy period for the post office!

The paint post is inspired by looking through old travel photos and a friend, L, who asked if i could paint happy things for her to send to friends. In a world where dread & worry is on everyone's minds, receiving some happy post in the mail should lighten moods, especially memories of good days!
I wanted to paint stamps of places I’ve been to. This was inspired by finding old travel photos when we visited beautiful New Zealand
