On Creativity Within Constraint: Pulling together all my art skills for our APAC Marketing booth at Google’s 25th Birthday fair!
The Brief? “Make sure people know what APAC Marketing does.”
As part of Google’s Google's 25th birthday celebrations, I led the concept, design, and production of the APAC Marketing booth at the SG Kampong Fair — an event attended by 3,000+ Google Singapore employees. The objective of the event was to raise awareness of different teams' work and spark cross-collaboration opportunities across the Google SG office.
Our APAC Marketing booth showcased work from various teams through engaging visuals and activities, including a "Magical Marketing Photobooth" that highlighted Pixel's magic eraser function and drove awareness of ongoing marketing campaigns. The booth attracted over 370 participants, demonstrating the power of creativity and social-first principles in internal communications.

I made this cardboard pixel myself by painting a cardboard box white, and attaching a bicycle light as the phone "flash". This cardboard pixel doubled up as our makeshift photobooth where we helped people take photos of themselves standing on a chair, which we then removed with the help of Pixel's Magic Eraser function, which gave the illusion of the person flying through the sky.

Through this project, I learnt the power of creativity within constraint and being scrappy. These signs depicting our APAC Marketing Mission were designed with emoji kitchen and then printed out and pasted on cardboard I painted black.

Our Marketing Mission, which doubled up as photobooth props. Guests who took a photo with our booth and tagged us on socials got free stickers/notebooks!
